Who here is a fan of old American folk music? A lot of it is really priceless, like "Big Rock Candy Mountain," which is attested to in the late 19th century but was first recorded by Harry McClintock in 1928. Here is that recording:

    Sounds like paradise.

Please do share old American folk music that you find fascinating or worth a listen.

Of these facts there cannot be any shadow of doubt: for instance, that civil society was renovated in every part by Christian institutions; that in the strength of that renewal the human race was lifted up to better things-nay, that it was brought back from death to life, and to so excellent a life that nothing more perfect had been known before, or will come to be known in the ages that have yet to be. - Pope Leo XIII

Thanks for sharing all these videos guys! The songs are truly priceless, each and every one. Not to sound overly patriotic, but they are a real slice of our American national heritage that's worth preserving. They can be enjoyed by anyone in any part of the world, though, because like all music it is universal and can speak to anyone of any culture.
