    Default Cobble Kingdom: A Proposal

Normally I would post this directly, but for some reason the forum hates me. So I copypasted my proposal into a free to edit Gdoc. If any of you do edit this, I'd like at least a comment explaining why, and as always UndyingNephilim has the final right to say if any of this is going in.

    So here it is.

A cool idea, I've always liked coming up with this sort of thing. I especially like the use of Ghot!

However, from my Experience, Neph typically has most of this stuff already planned out and largely finalized before people have a chance to give him ideas. Especially considering that Great Sea is his next project, most of the content probably exists in at least some sort of sense of completion or finality.

I like how u managed to work the SS robots in, assuming thats what they are, they were my favourite group in that game . Plus the origin story would fit very nicely with Nephs law, from what ive seen of it at least.

My response mirrors that of Drazule. I like how you found a place for the various automatons of Zelda in one faction and, much like Moblinrade Drazule, find myself especially impressed by the use of Ghot.

Even if Neph has the faction worked out already, I hope he'll take some of these ideas into consideration.

Good work @Masterweaver! Even if Neph does not accept your ideas for the game, I will still think of the Cobble Kingdom as you have written it, bravo! (On a side note have you ever thought of joining the RP? We could use a writer like you. )

Very impressive! I am particularly fond of the balanced units you have thought up. They follow the diversity of this mod quite well.

Nice! That was well made. While Undyingnephalim won't be using all of your ideas, I hope he will use some of your ideas.

Could you possibly direct me to the RP? I might join if I know what's going on.

    Also, SKETCHES!

I can't tell if that loaded so here's a direct link. In essence I wanted to dekiddify the Artisant; while the Skyward Sword robots were amazing (IMHO), I know that Nephy boy is designing something with a different aesthetic. To that end, I decided to redesign the hands entirely, also pulling them more toward the Egyptian feel of the canon Cobble Kingdom with a brick motif, and layer on some aspects of the Wind Waker Armos (since it kind of got pulled into the Armos Knight design). Part of my idea, I'll admit, comes from my time on the WALL-E forum; I was the guy that wanted my OC robots to be actually practical, in the same sense that the robots from the movie were designed for their specific tasks with little deviation. Here I had a bit more freedom--ancient kingdoms tend to be more artistic even in the most practical matters--so blending the Egyptian feel of Cobble Kingdom with the Maya/Aztec feel of both the Ancient Robots and the Tower of the Gods from Wind Waker was a nice phase.

I also had a lot of fun determining how Scrapper would look. In my lore proposal, I described him as a damaged patchwork both physically and mentally, and I hoped to convey that here. His eye visor is shattered, exposing the bits and bobs that happen to make a face; he's also got a lot of damage on his right arm, forcing him to use a pot as a hand. As a tip of the hat to the original game design, I gave him a "propeller" that's actually a potted plant, and just for fun half his skirt is replaced by wood. As for his personality, I once again drew from my experience on the WALL-E forum; we went pretty deep into robot psychology at times, especially regarding what exactly a "directive" meant. For instance, Scrapper here was built to Serve The Masters. That is literally his reason for existing. And while he was trapped on the island, he had no orders or even any way of knowing if the Cobble Kingdom was still around. He spent thousands of years in existential limbo, building up a personality with no other people around (wildlife at best)... yeah, he's pretty screwed up in the head.

Heck, canon Scrapper flirts with a sword. This version would likely not only flirt with many swords, but call any enemy sword a "sheathe dabbler."

As for the Spark, it needed to generate electricity and look like a skull. So I basically took the bottom have of an Artisant and redecorated. The Dreadfuse, now, that was interesting. A lot of both the canon Scervo and the canon Dreadfuse's appearance is clothing, but there are small at the underlying structure. While most artificial characters in the Zelda series feel more like stone or ceramic entities, both the humanoid robots have bits of golden metal in their underlying structure. Given that they're the primary humanoid units in the army, it could well bee that they're made with metals for support that Ceramic just doesn't give. Oddly, though, their heads do seem more ceramic...

Oh, and a final bonus: Two new potential units, one army/navy, one siege!

    Beetle
Beetles are the name of the odd flyers meant to compliment the Sentrobes. But where the Sentrobe is designed to scout ahead, the Beetle is designed for a more short range attack: Carrying bombs and dropping them into enemy formations. These flyers were designed to counter a major weakness in most Cobble units; while the Armos and its variants are devastating to small groups, they cannot handle well coordinated larger squads very well. The Beetle, on the other hand, can break apart squads easily... but is notoriously easy to destroy itself and outside bomb dropping happens to be defenseless.

    Tank
Combining Lokomo train construction, Ocean Blin cannon boats, and a massive touch of Cobble ingenuity, the Tank is the most recent siege weapon invented. The treads allow it to traverse a number of climates, while the cannon can be fired at only a slightly shorter range than the devastating Blin cannon boats. However, Tanks are expensive and difficult to maneuver, just as often running over allied troops as empty ground; the fact that it has made its way into the hands of mercenaries and Blin clans also causes a bad reputation, and most armies will regard it with disdain.

FYI, you need like 20-30 posts before you get full access to all the fun forum stuff like posting pictures and such.
