Bio: The new leader of the Rivarood house, he is the youngest leader the zealots have seen before. With skill in both persuasion and at being an administrator he is capable at rule. He burns with the desire to avenge the wrongs his family have suffered and to spread the faith of the zealots accros the galaxy, with him being the leader of them all. Has a rocky relationship with his brother.

Bio: The younger brother of Zhang Rivarood, Charles was a military man since birth. He is one of the best zealot commanders and is proud of it. He constantly tries to better his skills and impress his brother. Unfortuatly his rashness often gets him into trouble.

Lord Commander of the Faythful, Cyrus Vaiken of Thrax, arrived on Eden seeking an immediate audience with Lord Rivarood.

Yarnagi of the House Carnagi of the Eta system, arrives with a procession of holy figures, requesting a meeting with Lord Zhang Rivarood.

"Greets Lord Commander Vaiken, it is a pleasure to have you visit my humble hold" Zhang greeted Vaiken then bowed "Oh and Lord Yarnagi, too" He then thought for a moment "I trust you are both here on seperate bussiness?" He asked them

Yarnagi nods slowly, gesturing for his men to gather to one side.

"A offer of trade is all," he smiles. "But the Lord Commander of the Faythful should not be kept waiting. My father's offer can keep for a little while, if you would accept our presence for but a little while longer than expected."

[Celsius]

"Greets Lord Commander Vaiken, it is a pleasure to have you visit my humble hold" Zhang greeted Vaiken then bowed "Oh and Lord Yarnagi, too" He then thought for a moment "I trust you are both here on seperate bussiness?" He asked them

"As it would turn out, my business deals with all of us of the Fayth."
He nodded and looked at both of the men.
"With the Emperor dead, it is likely that whomever is elected with make a show of force either toward the Insectoids....or us. My brother, the Lord Sovereign of Thrax, has sent messages to the current First Minister in an effort to try to ease any tensions between our systems and others."

"They view us as heretics. Terrorists hell bent on destroying whatever isn't of the Fayth. Where they got this notion I have no idea, but it is clear that we must change that image. While we must present a united front to protect ourselves, we should also speak with those outside our systems to try to persuade them of our good intentions within the Empire. We wish for nothing but prosperity and peace. We do not need to go crusading around pushing our fayth onto others, as we have done well with those seeking truth coming to us. Our missionaries are spread throughout the Empire far and wide, and we must use them to our advantage, even if it means that they must move closer to home and away from those who would see harm to us."
He took a breathe
"I propose, on behalf of my brother, that we initiate talks as soon as possible with the new Emperor should be be able. With all of us on the same page, we can rationally discuss what the future holds for our systems and the Empire as a whole. We represent tens of billions and we have no voice. They have no voice. We MUST work towards getting represenation in the Grand Assembly, for if we don't, I fear that we will have to come to terms with our situation and begin a time of isolationism within the Empire."

Yarnagi's happy demeanor vanished with the Lord Commander's words.

"A united front is a double-edged sword. While it would strengthen our position immensely, could the Emperor not use this sign of peace and cooperation as a reason to attack? To declare us but heretics intent on bringing the galaxy to heel?" He gave a snort, failing to make it sound as if he had made a joke. "Insanity, I know, but better men have used worse excuses than that... Double-edged sword or not, you are right, Lord Commander, we must bind ourselves together. A delegation, to speak for the masses, must be sent and given their rightful position in the Grand Assembly."

[Celsius]

"Indeed my Lord, though I believe that if we keep our current trends in place, using diplomacy instead of rallying ships and troops, we should be in the clear. However, if our Emperor decided to attack his on people, we have the advantage of being in a system that is very consolidated and we can move very quickly."
He shook his head
"Talk of possible war worries me. Civil war no less no matter who says different. These next few months will be critical. We mustn't make splashes at the decisions made in the capital. However, those who sit on the Emperors council have the Emperor's ear. Should be fill it with nothing but those who seek to destroy us, we must be ready for the inevitable."

"Lord Commander Vaiken, you have a point" Zhang then looked around "But this is no place to disscuss, such .... sensative topics" He then gestured towards the building behind him "If you would please follow we so we can have some refreshment and talk in the shade"

[Celsius]

"Of course, my Lord."
Cyrus was a little tense at that comment. Eden was in the center of the Fayth systems. If spies had managed to infiltrate, they could be anywhere.

Zhang then led them into a meeting room with a small refreshemt area in it. "We should be able to dicuss our topics in peace in here without word getting out" He then added "Provided Xaiver has been doing his job at any rate" He then smiled at the two fayth lords "Which is all the time of course, but we cannot discount the possiblility, now can we?" He then gestured for them to be seated.

Cyrus sat and adjusted his hair. Talks of politics was more for his brother, Ramses. He was merely the military mind of the family.
"So my Lords, it seems the First Minister has been named Emperor. I am not sure how this will play out. On one hand by brother has sent him several confidential messages concerning our representation. On the other hand, the Emperor may need to keep promises to Slavers or the Old sect that involve us in an unflattering manner."

[Iron Aquilifer]

Yarnagi smiled at the Lord Commander's last comment. He was no politician, and he was barely a strategist.

"If the Emperor made promises which involve our sovereignty, without our knowledge, then we are justified to take any means necessary to ensure that our way of life is not compromised. If that ends in bloodshed, then it tells the galaxy that this new ruler is not fit to govern."

Yarnagi paused, smiling.

"If the Emperor makes agreements with the enemies of our creed, then we must assume the worst. How can we possibly trust in any man who may have already marked us as a target to rally his support? An alliance with the Marcher lords is vital if any resistance is to have a chance. The money of the Merchant lords would also not go amiss, but I have concerns about allowing them too much knowledge of any strategies concerning the protection of the Fayth. If representation can be granted. Representation which has power, then I see our culture remaining strong, without war."

Yarnagi again paused, for dramatic effect.

"But I doubt we will see peace."

"We are living in dangerous times..." Zhang commented "But will the Old lords find the power struggles worth it? It seems the old lords are more militant nowadays" He then sighed "But you both are right, we must defend ourselfs if need be" He then brought up a galaxy map, "If we were to be attacked we would need to strengthen 3 planets: Porteno, Eta and Helliconia​"

OOC: knightofhonnor.... is it just me or are your characters untraited? (they all have a maximum of 8 (2 for each decade: 4*2 = 8) but Zhang and Xiaver are only using 5 and Charles 4...) dont know if that was an oversight or was meant...

IC:

At the mention of his homesystem, Yarnagi frowned.

"I would hope that the Marcher Lords would be sympathetic to our plight. If not, then my Lord-father will defend the planet on the surface. Stockpiling weapons and mercenaries, Eta can be defended while conquests are made further afield. I could then take some naval forces to hold Helliconia, while your forces struck at the slaver systems. Yet, if we are presented with a united front by the lords of the western systems; the merchants and old lords and slavers... Well, we would only be fighting towards our inevitable downfall."

Yarnagi waited to hear a response before he would continue.

"Better a glorius last battle for the fayth, then having us letting them destory us, and hopefully the marcher lords would support us or at least be neutral, but we cannot count on it" He then took a sip of his drink and looked at both men with him "Changes are coming, and we must be ready to stand..." He then paused "...or fall"

"My brother has spoken to the Lord of Porteno and even represents his system when he travels to the capital. Those systems are vital that you mentioned are vital. They are the only way into the deep Fayth systems and the only ways out. Eta may be able to take slighly less in terms of military might depending on what the Marcher lords do. If any system of the Fayth is in danger, it is Porteno. The slavers watch as escapees and every other outkast of the Empire flocks to our systems because of our acceptance of them. Those slavers will not hesitate to claim what they believe to be theirs......"
He paused
"How many ships do each of you have under your command? and how many troops as well? We should at least know our own capacities before moving further."

Zhang then sighed "I only have a small defence force for the entire system and can muster 7 of our leigons for battle, in a year I may be able to comission some light ships, but no sooner"

[Celsius]

ooc; are you including the amount of legions and ship you can get with your points?

"Thrax has nearly 50 military vessels, as well as 45 Legions that total to a little over 2.2 million soldiers. Should war come, we can only hold out for so long if we face an entirety of the Empire."
He nodded
"We should begin heavy joint cooperation in regards to possible orbital defense platforms in systems like Porteno and Helliconia, as well as systems that lie beyond those such as Tiamat and Thrax. Would you Lords be willing to invest in such defenses? Especially in regards to Porteno and Helliconia?

[Iron Aquilifer]

"The military forces of Eta stands at 12 capital ships and 40 screening squadrons in space. On land, 42 legions at 2.1 million men totaled."

Yarnagi saw where the Lord Commander was coming from.

"The finances of my house have, admittedly, been ill-spent, and as such, we will require time to get our economy to truly grow. However, once it is, the Eta system will provide as much money as available to the shoring up of the defenses of the frontier systems. That is, not to mention, the time and money required to increase our available pool of military forces. Shipyards and Barracks should be a priority to ensure that when the lines are drawn, our forces are of sufficient number to truly utilize the defenses built."
