Default need some help please with making units

Hey guys I'm trying to teach myself on how to create new units using the assembly kit but I'm a little bit stuck I made a new sword unit for Pontus which reads pont_sword_biggles. Variantmeshdefinition i saved the file in my mod folder that was saved to my desktop. When I opened my pack file manager and tried to upload to my Vairiantmeshedefinition it kept saying that file could not be found and the folder I saved it in was empty. When I closed the pack file and opend the folder on the desktop the file was there.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong please and point me in the right direction thanks guys

That files was save in different format which PFM could not read is my guess.

Its because the files seem to only exist when the Assembly kit is working. There is a little trick I learned to bypass this.

    1. Open assembly kit and make the variantmesh.
    2. Create a folder on the desktop to store them.
    3. Save your variantmesh with the new name.
    4. Click "load definition" to find the list of the ones you made.
    5. Copy and paste the definitions to your new folders.
    6. Close Assembly kit and the variants will exist in your folder.
    7. Open PFM and your mod. Right click on the list of variant definitions. Click "Add" then "files" and find the folder you stored them in.
    8. You will then be able to add them to the mod.
