Default The Manticore System, Barony of La Nausca

The Star of the Manticore holds six planets.

Geria is closest to the star, and is an uninhabitable rock characterized by a dense, gassy atmosphere and a lack of magnetic field.
Red, orange, yellow, and even grey in some areas, the small planet is only useful for its mineral and metallic resources.

Lascao is the second planet closest to the star, and is also uninhabitable at this time. Grey with splotches of brown, the planet is without even a legitimate atmosphere, being blown away by the solar winds. Another mining planet.

Aquillon, a gas giant, is the boon of Manticore.
Orange, white, and yellow, it yields gases that are prized throughout the Empire, and its four moons are where Manticore's populations reside.

    - New Damascus is, from space, a black and foreboding world. Its atmosphere is uniquely filled with dark storms that dominate the planet 75% of the time. Being a planet of urbanization and industrialization, the atmosphere was only darkened with human inhabitants.
Artificial sunlight is used by its people. The inhabitants of the other three moons call it 'the Black Tyrant.'

    - Araçao is a temperate moon, and the source of most of Manticore's food supply.
Tropical and temperate in most places, Araçao is considered a miniature of the Earth.

    - Cernunnos is akin to Araçao, but somewhat colder.

    - Granada is infamous for being the place where the first Titan, Goliath, was constructed.
Granada is another industrialized world, though it is known as and thought of as a giant military base.
This is the home of "Granada Electronics", a manufacturing company under the control of La Nausca.

Holodrum is the largest gas giant in the known universe.
Though its moons are uninhabited as of yet, its resources are rather useful for the Manticore system.

Mandragora and Estion are identical ice giants, similar to Holodrum, but with frozen elements in the atmosphere.

    Granada Electronics
Granada Electronics is a manufacturing company owned and controlled by La Nausca family members.
It was once called "La Nausca Electronics".

Based on a moon of Aquillon, La Nausca Electronics originally produced a wide range of technological applications from consumer electronics to battleships and even space colonies. Their service do not end at electronic goods, as they have over 150 subsidiaries, ultimately fitting the definition of a conglomerate.

Near the end of the Reformation, they acquired the assets and personnel of many powerful companies that went under during the anarchic era - which were previously instrumental in military technology. This allowed La Nausca Electronics to make the shift to enter a militarized market, producing weapons and fleets.

Near 3,000 years ago, the first Titan was created on Granada by La Nausca Electronics with the instrumental aid of the Yakumo.
The first Titan War soon ensued within a few decades, and La Nausca Electronics was shut down.

Exile and demotion has placed La Nausca only on their home world, in the Manticore System.
Luckily for them however, the personnel and assets of La Nausca remained in their control, and within a century of their banning, they were able to create a 'new' company by the name of Granada Electronics.

Though Granada Electronics is a corporation with a civilian appearance, it is clearly a government-owned company just as all other companies are by other rulers of the empire.

A squadron of three ships exit jump-space outside of Aquillon, two destroyers escorting what appears to be a older version of a military transport with all three bearing the Yakumo crest on the starboard side of the hull. The transport sends a request for landing permission to officials on Granada.

Granada was often said to be "built of steel"; Surely, there was truth to this.

Orbital facilities known as "observation towers", more akin to floating fortresses, circled the moon and one could not close in on the silver ball without encountering an inquisitive patrol.
One such grouping of gunships flew alongside one of the destroyers before a command tower, green flashing lights from a distant orbital horizon, sent in orders to allow the transportation force into Granada's field.

Under what they call the "Outer Grid" made up of interlinked fortresses and towers, was a mass web of docking bays and other manifestations of cruel steel.
Weapons galore, from all over the galaxy, were either pointed outwards in a stable position or being adapted and experimented on by little figures in white space suits.

There was something dark and rather huge in the distant maze, but only a glimpse of the lumbering structure could be caught as the convoy continued onto the particular directed docking port.
Locked into the port, the visitors could now take an orbital elevator to planet-side.
The lobby of the port and connected elevator was one of the larger ones, akin to a public transportation station, but full of scientists and laborers in appropriate suits.
Groups of tourists in their casual clothing could be easily pointed out, walking along the windows in groups, pointing at all the steel constructs outside.

A man in a fine uniform appeared before the visitors, and offered a curt bow.
"Your Ladyship, this way, if you please," he gestured.

Upon landing, Lady Akane and her sister Keiko disembark with an escort of nobility, several of the notable vassal lords of Osmo present, all wearing some manner of military-influenced uniform, and several scientists in the Yakumo's employ in scarlet colored lab coats, speaking in whispers to each other of their observations which draws several annoyed glances from the nobility present. A group of tourists pause for a moment, as if to take a picture of the group, but quickly move on when one of their number spots another a weapon being worked up, shouting for his fellows to go over to him.

After the man approaches, Akane nods, leading her small escort in following the man, while Lord Reiuji remains to oversee the unloading and transportation of several large boxes brought for a demonstration of the latest collaborative project between La Nausca and Yakumo. Lady Keiko trails behind, behaving in a manner similar to the tourists due to never seeing Granada's maze before.

The representative led the noble envoys into a sizable elevator car that doubled as a comfortable audience hall.
When everyone took their seats, the lights dimmed to darkness, and then lit up like twilight with thin teal strips of light that ran up the walls.
A holographic image appeared with two identical women: Ethela and Isolde La Nausca.

"Welcome to Granada. We hope your voyage was sound?"

    OOC: Two Eva Green clones?

"Thank you, my ladies. Our journey was fortunately uneventful, especially with the reports of piracy occurring around Marune earlier this year."

"Indeed. Granada is still on Level-III alert," the right one said.
The left one nodded. "Granada received your latest data transmission. Very promising. We are told you have brought a sample?"

A low humming and a loud click sounded off, but other than that, the elevator car's movement towards planetside was relatively unnoticeable.

"Heike and most of the planets of Osmo are in a similar state, it'd be inviting the pirates if they are even still in the Southern Passage to attack us if we slackened our guard in comparison to other systems at this time." The other nobles of Osmo present nod in agreement with their lady.
Akane turns to the right twin. "Indeed. After the test, I think I will leave it for Granada's scientists to analyze and make any suggested alterations to take into account before beginning work on the next phase."

A large flotilla of ships, ranging from heavy cruisers to small destroyers arrives without prior announcement. Several of the ships show obvious signs of battle damage, while others look fresh from the docks. A request is sent to Aquillon to treat with the Baron Usul-Gwyn La Nausca

Even as the request is sent, the flotilla turns and leaves the system without fuss. Many onlookers are confused as to the appearance and then disappearance of the ships.
