The Osmo System
A seven planet system orbiting an orange main sequence star with a small asteroid belt between the third and fourth planets.
The five moons of Heike are relatively populated, with Seiankyou being the densest in population, heavily urbanized with an artificial large lake in the center of the city where the upper class districts are to provide a source of natural beauty for visitors are wealthier citizens of Seiankyou to contrast with the rest of the city. The city's sprawling underbelly is known for being a haven for illict activties and the underworld, due to the little care the officials of the moon give to that area. Corrupt men rule the area, allowing anyone to dock at the few areas in the lower areas of Seiankyou for the right price, and with a suitable bribe will look the other way for cargo. However, these men constantly have to keep an eye on the upper level officials as if they receive enough reports, they will launch a purge of the slums, sending hundreds of officers to crack down on the illicit habits of the slums. In one particular case, Yakumo troops were actually deployed in such an action that resulted in hundreds of people being shipped off to Heike for trial and those whose crimes were severe and found guilty of them, shipped of to Ezo. A delicate balance exists on the moon that can easily be thrown out between the slums(also referred to as Lowtown), the upper districts(Central), and the rest of the city.
Yomi, the 'Oni Moon' is a barely populated moon that was a failed terraforming project resulting in a extreme jungle biome filled with vicious creatures and deadly diseases. The valuable materials of the moon are harvested by machines over men, who control said machines from one of the few settlements on the planet. House Yakumo keeps a military spce station over the moon. The remaining three moons are successful terraforming projects, the first two being agricultural worlds and the third a tropical resort moon.
The third planet in the system, Tokai, is a colder version of Heike that serves as a mining and military facility for the Yakumo. The Reiuji, lords of the planet have their center of power on the larger of the two moons, with the smaller one being a agricultural moon. Tokai is home to one of the finest military academies in the system, after Heike's military academy.
The Shimonoseki Field of Asteroids divides Tokai from Izumo, and is prevalently used for mining and colonization on the larger asteroids. Some asteroids that are outside the main portion of the belt have been turned into outposts by the Yakumo for refueling of commercial and military ships.
Izumo is a predominantly aquatic world with 80% of the surface being water and most of the land mass being islands. The largest city on the planet, Yamatai, is built purely primarily over water. Mining operations occur deep underwater and on some of the larger islands, while the smaller ones are used for industry or agriculture depending on location. The lords of the planet, House Izayoi, have their seat in the Government district of Yamatai. The planet has three moons, two of which are lightly settled and the third is heavily settled and urbanized as a space port.
The fifth planet in the Osmo system, Suishou, is a ice world sparsely populated by humans, but produces some of the finest minerals of the system that are commonly used in jewelry and other ornate decorative pieces over being put to industrial usage. The crystals the world is named for are said to glow different colors depending how light hits them and the internal composition of the crystals. The vassal lord of Suishou holds the Cerulean spire, a towering structure built originally as a surface fortification to attack warships but now serves as a settlement, scientific research center, and seat of government.
The sixth and seventh planets, Hourai and Makai, are uninhabitable for humans due to being a heavily sulfuric acid atmosphere on Hourai that has proven resistant to all current terraforming technology, although small settlements are maintained on the four moons of the planet and some resources are mined from the rocky surface. Makai is a dark red gas giant with two moons, both of which are populated by humans, one serving as a military base and settlement, the other a industrial moon that operates the resource gathering systems for the planet.
