Default Marius reformus for non roman factions.

I still dont understand how I can trigger this, it never happened for me with non roman factions.

Romans need to build a palace in Italy but what about the other factions? how can they trigger it?

Barbarians cant even build a palace after all. And rome is far away for all the factions in the middle east.

I don't think non-Romans can trigger it. After all, it's a Roman reform. I think only the Romans trigger the Marius reforms.

You can fight against them, and the Romans WILL have a Marius Reform - you just can't trigger it. Once the ROMANS build the required palace (and the required date has been reached), the Marius Rfeorms will happen, and you'll fight against legionaries.

Only the Roman factions can trigger the reforms - by building an Imperial palace on the Italian penisula or Sicily. However, some factions may get some different tech choices after this event.

Thats what I am after as well. I downloaded darthmod and like it a lot. several factions get a lot of new units after the reformus, like the gauls and britons.

So I could add population to a roman city by using cheats so they will get a palace sooner? Or would this just cause overcrowding? I wouldnt want to weaken the enemy by this, strenghtening is alright but not weakening.

The Roman factions will expand rapidly without much help. But they do need to build the sequence of palaces before they reach the Imperial level. But in a game starting at 270BC, I have had reforms at 240 BG, so its not much of an issue.

I was always looking for a way to delay the reforms (historically they took place in 106?BC). But this is a hard-coded feature of the game.
