upgrading Vanilla TATW 3.2

hi @ all

i am playing vanilla TATW 3.2, superb game, for me one of the best games ever, but these following bugs are a thorn in my flesh

(1) sometimes ctd's in battles when elefant based units are involved (sauron, ents)
(2) skirmishing bug (its very difficult to use for example snaga skirmisher well, even when 'skirmish-mode' is off, they often not throw spears)

now my question. are there any submods/upgrades which have better performance (lowering above bugs (1) or (2))? i know that tatw3.2 include for example RBAI 5.6...
would installing RBAI 5.7 changes any above bugs (or only resolve reinforcement bug)? any other good upgrades? MoS for example changes the base game to heavily for me, not so good at the moment, i want vanilla tatw with better performance.

I'd say DaC is a good one for performance.

This will not be fixed by installing some submod for TATW. It has something to do with your PC/Laptop components/driver versions.

Something is incompatible, or , something is missing an update, or, current updated version of something is incompatible. Hard to tell which one is "something" from above sentences.

Posting your dxdiag would be good.

I would try changing the resolution in TATW Video settings to a lower value.

The less of your graphics card is used to run at a higher resolution, the more is available to you for things like anti aliasing, or higher frame rates.

The same is true in reverse: the more of your graphics card you use to push a higher resolution, the less you would be able to turn up settings in games. Turn off anti aliasing in TATW options, check your Audio driver for updates.

1) normally i play with all settings on max.. even with 10000 men game runs properly.. but sometimes ctd when sauron/ents are involved.. so if i want to lower the settings, what would be better: resolution 1 step lower or anti aliasing 1 step lower in regard to best possible grafik?

2) are there any submods where i can skirmish without any problems? i think solving the snaga bug would increase the strenght of isengart and especially OotMM dramatically, increase strenght of these 2 fractions which are generally one of the hardest fractions in game would make game more balanced!

3) does it makes sense to install RBAI 5.7 or it only removes reinforcement bug? i heard RBAI makes skirmishing better, is this in 5.6 already involved?

Da ich zufällig gesehen hab dass du deutsch bist kann ich mal eben paar tipps zu den snagas geben.
-Wenn manche nicht werfen, dann liegt das daran dass manche nicht in Reichweite sind.
- Ich empfehle immer eine Einheit als meatshield zu verwenden und eine direkt dahinter zu platzieren, dann sollten alle werfen können.
Guard mode hilft auch, da manche dann im nahkampf werfen.
Um snagas besser einsetzen zu können empfehle ich dir Divide and Conquer. In dieser submod wurde die Größe der Einheit reduziert (mochte ich erst überhaupt nicht) und es ist einfacher mit ihnen zu hantieren.
