How do I make add faction colors to my armor and shield

I have a Question How do I make the faction colors appear on Armor and shields? I made this shield and just transferred the textures from the last Days of the Third Age mod, and for some reason house colors shows on it. i don't know how I did this I did this shield a while ago, How do I do this right and for other models?

try editing the values in the factions_uniform_colours file, in the DB folder within data_rome2 pack

The faction_uniforms_colours works for clothes, cloaks and plumes. I think they work with shields too but I haven't done much with shields.

It does not work with armour though, you will have to extract the armour, recolour them manually, rename them and add them to the game as a new armour type.

you can change the shield colours in the unit_variants_colours table for the specific unit using the shield or the factions_uniforms_colours table for overall faction. shields have 6 layers diffuse, gloss_map, specular, normal, dirt_decal and also mask. I think its the mask that allows the changing on the faction colours on shields
