Medieval 2 worked perfectly fine on my Windows 7 machine, as well as Kingdoms, and SS6.3. So if I only had problems (CTD) launching Stainless Steel AFTER I updated it to 6.4, wouldn't the problem be with the 6.4 install? And not UAC or Medieval 2?

Try running the exe as admin.
