Default Unit Variants Colors broken? - SOLVED

As of right now I cannot get the unit variant colour table to work - the one that should let you set individual units to have unique colors regardless of the faction's standard coloring. Haven't the foggiest idea why it is not working - keeping the table named the same as vanilla, renaming it, does nothing.

For an example, here's the entry for the Socii Principes unit in LOB:

In unit variant colour table, the entry under unit_variant is: lob_italia_swordsmen_medium

    Variants_table has this value: lob_italia_swordsmen_medium

unit_variants_table for the Roman Socii Principes has that value: lob_italia_swordsmen_medium

The unit "name" (the "unit" table in main units) and land_unit entry are not that same value, if that matters.

Nothing seems to be solving it, but it's clear Unit Variant Colors isn't broken, because it does properly apply to the Carthaginian Sacred Band. Just not any new units. Anyone know what I am doing wrong?

Edit So as a rule I have to post problems I encounter on TWC because literally the next 10 minutes after doing so I'll find a solution. The PFM misnamed the column - the entry in the unit variant colour table to designate the unit is actually the unit "name" (in main units), not the variant mesh definition name.
