Unit banners (battle) tweaking... need some help
Hey guys!
So just for some background I have a pretty good understanding of creating mods and tinkering with this kind of stuff, but about 99% of it is from RTW (I created a personal overhaul mod over the course of a year or two).
I just got into TATW which is awesome, and I have been modding a few things to suit my personal preferences (although there isnt much to do, the creaters of this mod are f'ing pros!)
The last thing I wanted to change is the absence of unit banners on the battlefield. Easy, I just went into the .cfg and changed the option show_banners to = 1 instead of 0. Then I thought they were to small so I edited the size in "descr_banners_new"
The only thing that is still bothering me... In RTW, when you had banners enabled, upon zooming in close to watch the action of a battle, the banners would disappear. They would only disappear when you were zoomed in really close, and would reappear upon zooming back out. This would make is so that there would not be a massive wooden pole the size of a satellite sticking out of the head of one of your men. I looked through every file I could find related to banners, and couldn't seem to find anything related to this. I also tested the vanilla version of MTW2 and the banners do not disappear as they did by default in RTW.
So Im assuming this isnt likely possible, but thought I would make a post in hopes someone more familiar with modding MTW2 would happen to read and point me in the right direction!
Thanks!

My guess is that you are right and its unmoddable. If its by default off its probably with a reason.

That reason would be that it looks incredibly silly.
Seriously, in every TW game I've ever played (RTW-NTW) I've immediately disabled banners before doing ANYTHING else since I first saw them in RTW. Just looks ridiculous.
