Welcome back to a new update of North&South II!
Though real life struck hard, we were able to finish the first Unitpack!
It may consist of only one unit, but it's full of exclusive content! New models, new equipment, new sounds etc..... just explore it yourself!

It's also strongly recommended to download Kurisu Paifuaa's Shader tweak mod which removes the faction colouring from units when you zoom out:

~~Install instructions~~
Download the acw_mod.pack
Save it to shogun2/data/
Start the game. The Mod-Manager should appear automatically. Select the acw_mod and press play
To play with the unit, go to the singleplayer battles, select any faction and look for the new icon under Line-Infantry
Have fun

I'm looking for a community manager, who has a quick upload speed who can upload this and following versions to the steam workshop. PM me.
Just tested the new unit excellent models. I would only suggest editing the stats, maybe turning up the amour to anywhere from 7-10 and turning down the accuracy to 5-10 to make the battles last much longer. In reality a regiment of 200 men wouldn't lose 90% in just a few minutes. But besides that the unit looks great.
Oooo here we go, downloading now. Time to pit Yankees v.s Yankees.
Tried it. Some Screenshots:

No, The Problem aren't the unit armor nor unit accuracy - both are pretty normal, if rather low. I suspect the problem lies in the kv_rules: the missile_distance_for_half_chance_hit are 0 for all three, including artillery and naval. The usual value are 100, 300, and 300 respectively. When I used the usual Japanese Boshin War unit with the mod, I was surprised that they also suddenly become very lethal compared to what I expected. I'll test it one more time to ascertain it, without ACW kv_rules.

Nice screens - hehe and well, I obviously underestimated the power of the modding community to find hidden content - thank god I did delete my beautiful napoleon gun and artillery crew...
For the stats...well, those are mainly for the lulz. I didn't really paid attention to them and was just trying things out, like reducing the lethality (I failed obviously). I wouldn't mind if someone could help me with the db stats stuff.
The unit doesn't show up for me...
Ah, as hard as it is to admit. I am in the same boat as Wismar. Dropped it in Shogun2/data, ticked it in the mod manager, But it just didn't appear. Hopefully I'm not making an obvious mistake. those screenies are awesome wierdoascensor! I like the angles.
Then you either have other mods installed which interfere or you need glasses
I have no other mods.
Ah, scratch what I said about missile_distance_for_half_chance_hit; thats not the main factor...
The main factor is that very tight formation, with fire_volley means all 150men able to fire if laid in 2 rank firing line - the men in the back can fire between the front rank shoulders. This is like Kneel Fire, but better and simpler. The close order also mean more men packed to be shot at, increasing casualties.
Regular FoTS formations are much more open compared to the new units - so that the new units should need a different set of stats to the FoTS stats.
And oh, about the overly lethal FoTS unit, my bad...those were Chassepot-toting Infanterie de Marine, so no wonder...
Okay, after I rested, I'll try again to balance the stats without changing the formation spacing. Strange, I can't opem the unit_stats_land table, but I'll see what I can do via projectiles and kv_ rules.
So I had a thought perhaps closer to the release would it be possible to say release the factions with the existing campaign map ? Say alternative history of America in Japan ?
Been having a fun time with the Unitpack.
Here are some screenshots.

I found that in the game, the USV Infantry Company unit of 150 men managed to keep fighting after 3rd Volley, which after that are just fire at will without coordination anyway. After third volley, generally only 50% survived. They shatter at around 25%.
What is the acceptable figure for losses for the mod?

I've updated the ACW demo with my combat mechanics and JaM's morale system: https://mega.co.nz/#!cs9WSYzT!ogHN5q...SA6vl2DmTDdPrY
It might have some flaws as I know nothing about the American Civil War, but it does work.
