Cannot find Directx9
I saw a thread with this similar problem but it failed to resolve and the OP disappeared.
I have a retail version of Total Wars: Eras with the RTW and BI gold version on it. I've been playing it with mods just fine on a Windows 8 Operating system, but the mod wasn't mod-foldered and I didn't back up the vanilla so to play the original game and install other mods, I had to uninstall everything using control panel. And then went to the directory and just deleted the entire rtw folder. Then re-installed everything. It should be clean.
Unlike the previous unfortunate guy I mentioned, I can actually play Rome Total war with no problems... BI won't run though. It gives me a black screen for several seconds, goes unresponsive, and requires task manager to close. It then displays this error (which only displays half of the time, and requires task manager's close) [Rome Total War failed to find directx9 wich is required for the game to run please reinstall directx]
I also noticed that when I went to the game's directory, the BI executable has no icon. The desktop shortcut does.
Its a Win8 system and already contains Directx11. I have already played the game on this PC before... as in like a week or two ago. So I'm a bit confused to what went wrong. I don't know what all information will be relevant but I'll help when I can. I'm only on this computer one or two days a week, and I have another computer that will still play the game so it is not a high priority.
Thanks in advanced.

Re: Cannot find Directx9
Uninstallthe game, again, delete the Rome:TotalWar folder, again, run cleaner like Ccleaner, restart your computer, reinstall game.
Why? CA's POS uninstaller does not uninstall anything in the registry or in the Installshield folder. We have to use third party program. It should at least delete the program folder but was never programmed to do this much.

Re: Cannot find Directx9
The ccleaner may have been the difference. So I can probably confirm the error was a registry issue.
I'm not surprised it worked but... I've had this game for years, and have done many uninstallations and re-installations without ever encountering any issue whatsoever. In any case it works now. Thanks again for the help.
