    Default RS 2.6 character development

    Hey,

I was wondering what's the thing with the character development in RS 2.6. I am playing 1-turn campaign with Pontus and most of my family members- 6 out of 7- are actually quite mediocre. Even if they start off with pretty decent traits they usually develop bad ones over time.

Before I played RS 2.1 Five Good Emperors and I normally developed skilled and able governors as they acquired more experience, only very few of them were singled out. In RS 2.6 this does not seem to be the case. I know, though, that the whole career development/ trait acquisition system has been very much redesigned in this version, but... is it meant to be that way?

I always pay attention to things like the sufficient happiness level in the settlements- at least 105%-, building academies, etc. Though, the tax level I usually retain pretty high, of course, as long as the happiness level allows me to do so.

Are there any other significant things here that I might have missed?

If i remember correctly that is intended. It would just be realistic to have many mediocre and only few particularly good/bad characters don't you think?

    This is accurate.
To have average family members and then once in a while have an UBER god like member and even then he will be like Brutus quality instead of Caesar quality if you get my meaning.

yes, I think that's quite interesting to play it that way, makes you even more kept focused on the proper administration

I have noticed some improvement, though. When a character enters the school education he seems to be showered with positive traits, and especially those related to his administrative/ rhetoric skills.
