    Default EB Affecting Vanilla Rome?

Okay, so this will be a long post/question but here goes:

I had two separate copies of Rome (one in my C:/ Drive, NOT in program files), and installed I EB in C:/. I was able to play both EB and the original Vanilla without any problems aside from the usual CTDs. Then it just stopped loading one time, I would click on the Play Single Player icon for EB and it would get to the small rectangular graphic and would freeze there for 5-10 minutes (it's usually only there for a few seconds before starting the game) and then I'd get a "Rome TW has encountered an unspecified error" message. Since it was basically unplayable (working maybe 1 time in 5) I uninstalled both EB and Rome and reinstalled. Didn't fix it. Then I uninstalled them both again and only reinstalled Rome. Still didn't work. So then I uninstalled Rome again INCLUDING the registry and reinstalled Rome. This time I was able to play Rome with no problems, however, when I attempted to install EB I got the same old issue with both of them. The odd part is, when Rome and EB aren't working, BI works just fine without any holdup. So I can only guess that EB is somehow fudging with the other copy of the Vanilla Rome? There was also something about "RomeTW.exe -mod:eb -show_error failed" when I click on Run Europa Barbarorum instead of Play Single Player. I think I'm installing correctly because I'm doing it the same way as before (when it worked) but I could be wrong.

Does anyone have any ideas or experience with this?

    P.S.
It's also not entirely out of the realm of possibility that my rig has something to do with it. (1.8 Ghz CPU, 1GB RAM, 256MB Video, less than 150GB hard drive that's too many years old, randomly restarts while playing simple games like AOE2, being an all-around POS)

My gaming "computer" actually doesn't get internet, and the one that does is always in use (6 other people). But if I ever get a new one I'll look at the multi-player. No, I don't have Steam. I guess I'll just keep messing with it, thanks for the offer though.

Okay so get this, I uninstalled and cleaned the registry, then reinstalled Rome in Program Files. Then I installed EB directly into that folder (not a separate copy). Now when I click on the Play Single Player it won't work (0 for 3) but if I Go to Start/run and then browse and find the Single Player in program files it does work (5 for 5 so far). What gives? Lol
