    i was talking about R2TR balance, its a bit different from vanilla game... for example, we have changed torches into flame javelins, so every infantry unit has means to attack wooden watchtowers, etc.. yet, gates are a bit more resistant, so sending infantry against them takes a lot of time to do something... If it was possible, we would fix the Siege AI for CA, but sadly, battle AI is hardcoded so tough luck..

    Does making the torches super weak/gates super strong discourage the AI from just bum-rushing the gate, or even burning it down at all? Does the AI stop and think "hmm, it'd be more worth time and effort to either send more men up the ladders or use that ram that we've got" if that were to happen?

    not really. they usually always sent few units to burn the gate with remaining army waiting at distance.. yet, i didnt do that change for AI, but purely for player.. i try to play all sieges, and having ability to take down wooden watchtowers is something that should be possible by use of flaming projectiles.. vanilla game didnt fully allowed it..
