BI disc will not play

I have both RTW and it's ALX expansion installed on my HP notebook laptop, with both running very smoothly. However as I wanted to play some mods that needed BI I recently ordered BI expansion from amazon.

Game installs just fine, but when I click on it to play, an error message pops up telling me to 'reinsert the correct cd-rom'. Also as I didnt read the details quite well on amazon the BI version I ordered turned out to be in french while my other RTW and ALX discs are english but I doubt this is the reason why it will not play.

I've tried running the game as administrator, turned off the UAC, disabled the anti-virus software and have unistalled and reinstalled my dvd drive. It's really frustrating as my laptop is only a year old yet it also refuses to read M2TW, hech it doesn't even allow me to install that game. I haven't a great awareness of how reliable a site like 'can I run it' is but when I test my system on that it says I should me able to play RTW and M2TW very well.

If anybody can give me an answer to allow me to play BI and maybe even M2 I'd be very grateful, thanks.

Wrong language pack can ruin your day. If vanilla is English BI has to be too.

Ah not good, really not what I wanted to hear. I really should have checked that before I bought it. Thanks for your reply though

Sorry to bring this up again, but should this french copy be ok if mods that use the ALX disc are played but need BI for some of it's files. e.g. if a post-roman mod was based on BI but a submod was made to play it on ALX disc, would it work if I left this french disc installed for it's files but modded some destination paths so I could play it on ALX?

I guess you can but some text may be in French.
