Default spies are overpowered for the AI?

I'm Aragon, I have 6 spies in Jerusalem to counter spy, I have a fairly sizable army in Jerusalem, I took Jerusalem and built it up specifically because I wanted glorious siege defence battles against the islamics with my pikes, swordmen militia's and arbalests. I've spent all my resources on this one idea. Glorious fights in Jerusalem against anyone, with my more advanced units (I practically neglected every other part of my empire for this)

But somehow the fatimids have a spy in my city that can't seem to be expelled, and every siege he opens the gates, and of course the 1 unit I need near my gate is placed the furthest away it's frustrating beyond belief and it has come to a point where I alt f4 quit out of the game if I can't deploy, reload, and use the auto win cheat.

How come the fatimid can plant some sort of super spy in my most developped city, with 6 counterspies in it, yet I can't even get a single spy planted in enemy cities without first losing 7 spies or so to failure?

does the ss AI get a cheat buff?

Weird. It's been a long time since a spy has opened my gates to the enemy.

Try to recruit some assassins to kill him.

If you know how kill spies already in a settlement, please TEACH!

the only way i've found is by commanding the assassin before the spy gets in the settlement and the assassin needing several turns to get to him, then when he reaches the spy location he'll perform (or try) the deed.
