Ok, please bear with me. If anyone can help; I have never used a mod before. I was interested in and looking for this specific mod (Italian). Can someone walk me through or point me in the right direction on where/how to download this mod. I need the English version, do I have to download the German version first? Again, sorry for the Noob questions.

Re: English Translation
In the Download thread you will find two links for downloads: one for the basic (German) version 4.0 of The Italian Wars and one for the translated English text files.
First download the German version and install it (it's an executable file that will create the necessary folders and desktop icons automatically - so you don't have to worry about where to put which files, just follow the installation wizard.)
Then, once you have completed that, download the English translation. It is a rar-archive. On opening it, you will find a folder called "Italian_Wars" inside.
Now go to your Medieval 2 folder (probably something like Programs --> Sega --> Medieval 2) and there look for the folder "mods". Now copy the folder "Italian_Wars" from the downloaded rar-archive into this "mods"-folder. You will be prompted and asked whether to replace existing files/integrate folders into existing ones of the same name. Say "Yes" to everything.
Now you should be able to play The Italian Wars 4.0 with English texts

Thank you Iskar, I appreciate that info. Is there any difference to the initial download if I use steam? Also, do I need to download something to open the rar-archive?

I'm not entirely sure how, but I managed to get it to work. It looks amazing! Thank you guys for making it.
I wanted to see how the battles look so I rushed some units into a fight with some rebels...I won, but barely. Awesome though.

Warlordz, it's on the download page, right underneath the 4.0 download link.

So I got to play it for a few hours (78 turns) as Florence. You guys really put a lot of thought and energy into this. Thank you, it is really enjoyable. I especially love all the events, adds a lot of spice to the game, instead of just being linear play.

Re: English Translation
All right, I have started to work again on the translation files.
Maybe, I have some spare time to finish and release them over the upcoming weekend.

Ned
