removing forced march? (mod question)
I'm used to most TW's quirks, for example the minimalistic diplomacy and how it acts on the battlefield. However, one thing annoyed me in my latest finished egypt campaign (hard). Aside from the start, batles were only sieges (mostly of empty cities), or ambushes. Which provide little challenge when you use your spy on it before. I'm also not a big fan of siege battles (mostly because im not good at them). So what im basicly looking for is a mod that will "force" the AI to fight more open battles. I've always heared that removing forced march will improve that (including the AI going sailing most of the time). So now i want someone who has experience with it and can confirm it (and recommend which mod he uses).
I know there are big overhaul mods, but i want to avoid them for now, since i might play a mp campaign and don't want to be pendeling between different game mechanics.
Thanks

Re: removing forced march? (mod question)
Hi mate. I started using a mod called 'no forced march' a while ago now, seemed to affect the cai very positively. You no longer catch the AI in compromising positions, and it also very much seemed to help with the 'roaming navies' situation. As an example, after the latest patch I re-downloaded the mods I had, one by one, to make sure everything was compatible. But I had forgotten to re-download this one. As a result, today while playing as Parthia, I kept catching Baktria off guard and ambushing them...this never happened with the mod enabled, now it makes sense. Definately worth trying out. Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but I also believe Divide Et Impera adopted something similar.

Well divide et Impera seems to be the big overhaul mod that i want to avoid. Not only because it changes too much, but also because there are some features (like longer campaign, fewer agents, etc...) that dont appeal to me, maybe for a later stage

That's the problem with some of the overhauls..you don't get to pick and choose, unless its radious. I prefer DEI over radious though just for the fact that it's more realistic. Check out 'no forced march' then, sounds like it's exactly what you want.

Well, went for radious anyway, only did a test battle so far. Funy is that it says "units will last longer", and hillmen are still the pussies they were in Rome 1 :p

Change the movement bonus to a negative value and the AI won't use it. You can't remove it
