How can I import excel files into my packfile?

I want to know how to import excel files into my packfiles. Is there a tutorial?

I have done this several times using this:
1) Save file.
2) Change .xls to .tsv
3) In Packfile, click on the director/folder name, not the old file.
4) rename the old file so that new and old file have different names. Choose a name for the new file that has precedence over the old file.
5) Add>>DB file from TSV
6) Search for and upload your tsv

It seems that there are other options but this works for me.
