looks like the BJP (blowjob party amirite?) candidate Modi is going to win it, and fresh from tacitly accepting the massacre of muslims in Gujarat in '02. How wonderful, wonder how soon he'll be removed from certain ahem 'persons of interest' lists in the US once be becomes PM
Hmmm, Chandra Bose vs Gandhi. This would prove very interesting.
Restore the Raj, for effective repression in sub-tropical climes.

And I drank it strait down.
Narendra Modi seems like the most capable leader to rule India so I'll be supporting him more or less. The current ruler of India(Manmohan Singh) has done a good job during his reign so i'm honestly surprised that he's not running in this election, but it is what it is.
Elephants for the Win!

Voting continues
As far as i can say people really seem to be taken with Modi, but then again the Congress did defeat Vajpayee at the height of his popularity... Either way the regional parties have really gotten more powerful we may witness a huge change in the political landscape soon.
Of course he will win!
To free this country from a corruption/fungus, these people have appeared in waves for Narenda Modi, believing that he will free this country from a whole lot of things that this Congress government has done. And that he will bring his Gujurat development model to many other states. A useless government in ten years which has done nothing for the people will be leaving their office in ten days. To free India from Sonia Gandhi who has amased $20 billion dollars as black money and looted money from the country itself, Modi is a better choice than Arvind Kejriwal who is nothing more than a B team of congress.
Everyone knows that Rahul is a reluctant heir apparent; his sister seems to have the drive he lacks.

And voting goes on and on and on....

Down with the Indian Monarchy.

See, this is democracy in action, not the sham in Eastern Ukraine.
If I had to choose between betraying my friends and betraying my country, I hope I would have the guts to betray my country.

So Narenda Modi's goverment 275 seats along with the NDA with 326 seats.
The Congress government has been defeated by 60, 77 seats.
Modi has won by 570,000 votes.
What do you think of the new prime minister? Will he bring India growth or ruin? What does the West think of Modi?
It's most likely going to be neither ruin nor really any sort of super growth.
Most of the issue India face is systematic and is unlikely to be solved by musical chairs, Infrastructure that need to be built to the point where India can truly even provide reasonable base for heavy industrial growth would involve decades to building even in optimistic assumption.
Modi's nationalistic bend could potentially get India into some trouble, but really MOST of these type of guys end up becoming much more pragmatic in practice
1180, an unprecedented period of peace and prosperity in East Asia, it's technology and wealth is the envy of the world. But soon conflict will engulf the entire region with great consequences and lasting effects for centuries to come, not just for this region, but the entire known world, when one man, one people, unites.....
Although I would disagree with you on many points; the regin you describe is exactly what the Congress Government was in India at this time.
Only Modi needs a fresh cabinet of young/middle aged leaders, not with leaders over 75 deciding the main issues of India. India will progress and move forward, after all in Modi's gujurat he has Japanese/Chinese investment. They are more than capable of producing mass production. The only thing preventing India moving forward was the main congress party, the BSP, SP and other parties which ran by communal violence. Now that the BJP have come in with a VERY strong majority, they will move forward. India has to address its economic, forgein, and development issues. If you don't believe me, what is this Modi's gujurat?
And you haven't seen this interview:

So if you claim that he won't bring India change, these are pictures taken from his native state.
I do believe he will bring change, it won't be all rushed this time;unlike many other Indian leaders, he does not think mass, he thinks quality.
Demographic bomb and bureaucratic intransigence. Policies effected from the centre are going to take years and decades to percolate to the fringes.
This is a wait and see, though he probably will have to do something to placate the miffed Muslims.
