Default Income Spike - "Corruption and Other"?

My treasury went from 2,500 to 25,000 when it should have gone to about about 1,500. I got 18k income from "Corruption and Other" for this turn alone. The campaign is VH/VH; I'm not using BGR... the only thing that happened between turns was I lost a fortress and it was sacked, the units there were all junk with hardly any upkeep. After this one spike, it went back to what it should be.

Where does this income spike come from?? Is it a feature or a bug? I tried searching but couldn't find anything.

    Thanks

Could it be from a vassal? If not, maybe some kind of campaign script to keep you from going too far into the red? (which seems unnecessary and unlikely)

I don't have any vassals now. I used to have one but cancelled it when I realized I was getting crazy amounts of money from them. That money was put in the "diplomacy and tribute" section though and the faction is now gone anyway. I don't know what might be included as income in Corruption and Other.... I did accept a trade fair event thing a few turns back but I don't know what it does.

So it looks like the weird income didn't come from Corruption and Other (which is just recording me sacking some cities) but from all of my other income nearly doubling for just one turn. You can see it below, my income jumps to 24,000 per turn then goes to -3194... Why would this happen??

It looks like about 15000 comes from a trade increase, 3200 from merchant trade, and another 500 from mining. That accounts for about 18500 of the increase, with Corruption and Other being another 16000. You said the Other is from sacking cities, so I'm guessing the trade and merchant trade increases are from owning new territories that you can now trade with? Or maybe you just got trade rights with someone?

On a different note, is that white faction dominating the Middle East the Crusaders??

Yeah, it's 18,500 that is completely unexplained... I did gain 1-2 territories but I don't think they are worth that much. Plus the next turn I was back to earning -3,000 and I didn't lose these new territories (although I lost a fortress). I'm almost positive it's a weird bug, maybe I'll just donate the money to the Pope. The bigger issue is that this is my first SS campaign and I don't really get what's a bug or a feature.....

The white blob is me, I'm playing as the Crusaders

Did you have a lot of generals moved into cities on that turn that you didn't on previous/following turns? Your generals can get traits that allow you to gain income from corruption. While I wouldn't expect it to have a big impact, I suppose if you did have great generals that you moved into money-making cities for that turn it could've resulted in some corruption income.

Well, it happened again, earned almost 30,000 for no reason... it seems to occur after breaking a siege? Every time I break a siege I earn crazy amounts of income the next turn. I know you get money for sacking the enemy camp or whatever but it seems a bit much...it's not a huge deal but between this and 15,000 per turn lost to devastation (another bug), the finances in this mod make less and less sense to me
