    Default Very Odd Dilema

Okay, so yesterday I overclocked my video card to play Medeval total War 2. I started playing with all the settings at the lowest, but I still got heluva lot of lagg. Oh here are my specs:

    CPU: 2.98 Ghz
    Memory/RAM: 1 GB
    Hard Drive: 80 GB
Video Card: Nvidia FX5200 128MB GDDR
    Pentium 4

So today I overclocked my game again, and decided what the hell, so I set unit detail to medium, textures to medium, and grass to low, and set it to triliniar something, forget what it is, and I notice a large increase in fps, not exactly sure how many, but I downloaded fraps and am going to check it out tomorrow. Also, any ideas why this is happening?

    Salaam,
    Adnan

Yes he does. I seriously have no idea how this happened, but it's still pretty laggy unless i look as far down as I can.

Heh, I don't know what to say. It's a phantom change. I've had things like this happen.

I mean, some games work better for me on higher graphics than lower graphics but that makes sense in a way.

    Your story, I'm clueless...

And you're 100% sure you didn't do anything? Hm..

my old graphics card (like nvidia4800, dunno if its geforce or not) seemed to get better and better the more I use it. now I got geforce7300 and my graphics are exactly the same (for rtw at least).

Thats because although the GF 7300 is much newer, its been downgradeded to budget status. And the GF4800 (They have this card? I thought it was the 4600Ti..) was gaged to the "enthusiast" market when it was new. At least with graphics cards its like the difference between a 1990 jaguar, and a 1999 honda civic.

And as for more and more performance, newer drivers usually increase performance as time goes on.
