Cinematic Skins.
Just a quick question that i cant seem to get answered anywhere, so i will try here.
Does anyone know why the Cinematic Skins in Rome 2 cannot be used in bulk? This does not make any sense to me. The .RigidModel file is in the same directory as the other unit models, so why couldn't i use it like a normal unit skin.
Using the skin works perfectly fine if you want an army of one unit. I understand it was meant for "cinematic" purposes to fool everyone that all the units looked this detailed and well-done, but what does that separate from the other files?
If this unit's num_mem is edited to anything other than 1, the face textures freak out and melt like in raiders of the lost ark......
So i guess my real question is that, what makes this rigidmodel file different from the other units? If its in the game (assembly-kit) then why cant we use the best textured unit skin that's in it!?
The skin in the Assembly Kit is called Varus_lionTV.
I had a theory that maybe it was due to the fact that the variantmesh code went straight to a Rigidmodel file instead of a definition file first like the other units. Just a thought.
