Since you are making a new mod with the starting date of 980, you might want to take a look at our Anno Domini project featuring the modification for Medieval II Total War called Anno Domini 973. We could probably cooperate in a lot of ways. You're a great modeller and texture maker and it's great to see you also have interest in the earlier period.
I found a bug on this mod. I played as The Comanchi Tribes and game crashes after captured three settlements of England. Gunpowder unlocked at somewhere in early 13th century, Mongols also started earlier at late 12th century.
what will be the start date of the mod? what the end date of payable perdiod?
I check ur mod , all is similar with my mod is date...and sorry i didn't see way to cooperate ,cuz my mod is global in time period with almost world map, u can't even put in ur mod unique cities cuz u don't have natives culture with 3 levels city from who u can take slots for unique cities...
Oh my GOD!Raubak, yiu are a GENIUS! I can't wait for this beauty to be released1

So I guess we will never see custom settlements in any Medieval 2 mod other than Tsardoms (or are there in The Great Conflicts?)...
Too bad.

So, no progress? Has this been abandoned?
