Default Can't recruit specific auxiliary units.

Maybe I just don't understand the Auxiliary system, but it honestly feels broken in my campaign right now. First it was fine, I conquered a region, built an auxiliary barrack, and pumped out culture-specific units. But now, 180 turns later, all I get from a level 4 Auxiliary camp are the standard Auxiliary infantry spearmen and, depending on the region, some basic units. In Magna Graecia, which I control completely, I can only recruit Thureos Swords, Peltastai, some cavalry, and the Thureos Spears. No pikemen of any kind, nor Hoplites, both of which were available earlier. No Thorax Swords either. In Cisalpina, which I also control completely, I could earlier recruit various Celtic swordsmen and elite spearmen, but now all that is available are the standard Auxiliary troops, some naked swordsmen, and Celtic javelinmen. Same thing in my Iberian territories. I haven't hit any unit caps either, I field a maximum of three units of each across all of my armies, and it doesn't matter which army I try to recruit the auxiliaries with - they're just not there in the roster any more.

Is this tied to culture? Have I introduced to much Latin influence to these provinces, making the culture specific units unavailable? Or am I doing something wrong?

The new reforms affect auxiliary and mercenaries too.

I know that Roman auxiliaries are supposed to be affected by global reforms for the specific culture in question - problem is, those global reforms happened 20 turns ago. As you can see in one of the pictures I attached, I am still able to recruit Thureos Auxiliaries, whereas I should be able to recruit the Thorax versions.

It is good to know that this is not an isolated instance, and that it will hopefully be fixed. I'll have to finish this campaign with the standard legionaries in the meanwhile.

well i cant say anything about romes aux units since i didnt play them since a few months.

but i encountered a similar thing in my carthage campaign. units which were listed in the description of the building werent recruitable after a while...they were recruitable first but they disappeared some turns later (i didnt lose any ressources/cultural influence etc) and it wasnt possible to recruit them anymore in any region in the world where i built a skirmisher camp (lvl2 + lvl3 units were missing...havent build lvl 4 yet). i am not sure if this is intended and i just dont understand the system yet or if it is just buggy.

used mods: less squalor + rebalanced agents + less agents for DeI and bullgod unitcards.

i think your problem is quite similar to mine and it would be awesome if someone who knows could enlighten us^^

Same thing here. Most of my aux units have disappeared.

I have seen a few users reporting this. I will see if I can find the cause.

I have the same problem but I actually thought it was intentional, and that a new system would be introduced in v.95.

I have had the same problem. After I reached the third reform, most of the infantry auxiliary options disappeared. Fortunately I can still recruit Balearic Slingers and Cretan Archers, but I only had a short time with pike phalanxes and celtic infantry, and I never got to play with Iberian infantry (I did notice that there are about 12 Iberian mercenary options, though - I could've created 1.5 full stacks just from the merc recruiting options there). I can still recruit african elephants and some of the weaker Greek infantry - thureos hoplites, the greek scutarii, illyrian coastal levies, etc.

In the meantime, I've been getting my spearmen by taking my old Hastati and Principes out of garrisons and placing them back into front-line duty, and then supplementing by recruiting from my client states. That's a pretty slow and sub-optimal process, though.

How do you get them out of garrison???? Or do you mean they were stacks left to defend.

Agreed I thought I did something wrong and would have to start over lol. Hopefully this is fixed soon so I can finally wipe out some traitorous greeks! I love having native units in my army for some reason.

i think problem started after .81 or 082 patch. because I was able too recruit a nice varied barbarian and Hellenic auxiliary units but now just regular auxiliary infantry and javalinmen

hm...I actually thought it had something to do with the culture...after I got 50% + latin...those units wouldn't be available anymore.
So I removed all culture affecting building and generals, got the culture back at 50% + celtic but units still weren't available.

I thought this was the issue too, but promoting the native culture did nothing. If it's any help to Dresden and co, my issues started appearing after the Marian reforms. I do not remember if a patch came at the same time.

I started new campaign to test and the issue is from the start now. cant recruit anything else apart from auxiliary infantry and javelin men just like my old campaign. on auxi barracks 3 on barbarian regions only unlocks the naked warriors and that's it.

Then you have some issues that have nothing to do with DEI because auxilia don't magically vanish from the tables.

Certain auxiliary units are locked until those factions reach their worldwide reforms. We will be adding to Rome's auxiliary roster in the next update.

Well, the thing is - none of that happens. I'm well past all but the Roman Imperial global reforms, and my auxiliary options have disappeared, with very few exceptions.
