Do units a certain Area of Recruitment?
I just recently started SS6.4 with Denmark. In two of my castles I am able to recruit the Viking infantry and Norse Archers. Both of those castles and are in Scandinavia. I acquired Hamburg from the HRE which is a castle, but I am unable to recruit any of the Viking infantry or Archers. Actually I can't even recruit Scouts from the stables. The only troops I am able to recruit are spear militia and levi archers. Is there some kind of "Area of Recruitment" setup implemented, to where I will only be able to recruit certain troops in my "Home" territories?

Yes, but you can disable it with the DisableRR option when you run SS_setup.exe

Many castle type settlements have one or two local units available. You can identify them by looking at the unit details. It will indicate "local" for the unit. If you conquer a settlement with a local unit type, that unit type will be recruitable for you in that settlement.
