Don't think of me as one of 'those' guys, I highly respect the mod and have been though much progress in the campaigns and give my full support, but there are things that bug me. First of all is the start of the campaign. I have 3 points.
- All AI's start with the regular units and stuff, all is well. Until a turn or 2 later. Stacks appear and an unrealistic amount of money spawns in there treasury that obviously outweighs my own. It's hard to stand against that in the short run and it takes proper time to train, recruit, and build a faction fit for fighting. And money as well. Instead I see large amounts of units spawn in a turn later that would have been physically impossible to muster or train in the time granted.
- Special units aren't special. As Sylvania (Did I spell that right?) I get blood dragon keep, which naturally, has a building for blood dragons. But doesn't permit the training of them. Instead, I have to wait for an amount of time for them to spawn, which is alright, but I can't retrain them or recruit them. Blood keep lost its purpose and like a lot of other special units such as wizards or master engineers, refilling and recruitment are a no-go. So use the units wisely? Alright, done.
BUT.
I look over at my little imperial buddy across the field and see him (with his unnatural amount of men) with all sorts of special units! Witch hunters, wizards, and that's not the only time I see them either. Using Sylvania as my example, I often see the famous and hard-to-kill (And for me, even harder to maintain) Blood dragons in numbers numerous times in numerous armies.
- Things escalate seriously fast. Faster then I could handle, no matter how skilled. I explained the details already above, I just wanted to make sure this was a point.
My aim of this post was just to point this out, I had no real goal in mind. However, I would recommend a more passive campaign where people actually start and work with, you know, what they actually start with.
Another related point, was that I read about a submod somewhere that allows the recruitment of special units. Witch hunters in the final inn, tavern, not sure what its called. Warrior priests in monasteries, ect. Could someone point me towards that? I like the idea of being able to recruit a wizard out of a fancy university.
If I made any errors of faults, don't be shy to point it out and debate me on it.
Thanks for reading
- Jester
