tatw crashes at menu

i open the game and when it gets to the menu it crashes i have dac but it crashed before i installed dac so please help

Could you please give more information, (any error messages? does it freeze? crash to desktop? not-respond? etc...) otherwise there is next to no chance of anyone here to help (due to lack of information). thx.

1) What Windows do you have?

2) Did you install all four TATW Parts+Patches all up to 3.2 version?

3) What are your system/PC specifications?

Go here, it is a thread with pictures for the installation, and these steps you need to do:

1) Edit Security for your main M2TW folder ( first step explained for Windows Vista, 7 and 8 Users ) or, take ownership of your main M2TW folder by using TakeOwnership.reg file method.

2) Remove /delete wrong installed TATW files from your main M2TW/ mods folder ( just delete the currently WRONG installed files located in either Third_Age_3 folder, or, if you renamed one of your Kingdoms campaigns for example teutonic folder, delete that WHOLE RENAMED folder, in this case, delete teutonic folder).

3) It would be good to verify your steam game cache, and after that, just start one campaign in M2TW, and one in Kingdoms. Just so to refresh data resources.

4) Install TATW using TATW Steam installation pictures, or, do this:

a) open your main M2TW folder, right mouse click in the Address Bar and press: Copy address as text.

b) And then replace the Default Installation path in ALL TATW Installers with this one you have just copied ( Copy address as text ):

just select the Default installation path, right mouse click and press PASTE to replace it with the location of YOUR main M2TW Folder .

c) Go to your main M2TW/ mods folder, rename one of your Kingdoms campaigns to something else ( teutonic to teutonic_original), and, rename Third_Age_3 folder to teutonic.

Start teutonic campaign from your M2TW/steam launcher, and you should be playing TATW 3.2.

5)For battle Crashes Disable/turn off daylight saving settings, if you have Windows 7 or Vista, go to Control Panel, Clock, Date and Time, Change the time zone, Change time zone, uncheck `Automatically adjust clock for Daylight Savings time`. Can you explain better what happens? The game loads the menu and then immediately crashes to desktop?

well i open the game then it crashes after i have been on the first loading screen for a little while

well it worked before but now when i tried it crashed at the with a unspecified error

Okay, so we need to get M2TW Kingdoms working before trying to fix TATW, as there could be a problem with M2TW that is interfering with TATW.

Make a post in the M2TW Tech Help section asking for help. The people who frequent that section should be able to help you.
