I think updating my mod changed my graphics. Any help?

I have a modified version of Kaziel's Romans. What I did to modify it was remove the red tunics on some Roman units, like Hastati, and various other cosmetic changes.

Strangest thing: When I use the out-of-date version of my mod, it works just fine. But when I update my mod via the launcher, then I see all sorts of strange things: regular vanilla shields on some units instead of Kaziel's shields, red tunics showing up on units despite the fact that I deleted any reference to red tunics in their variant files, etc.

When I de-select the updated mod and select the out-of-date mod, everything shows up as it should look. There is literally no difference between the two mods.

What is going on here???
