Default can someone tell me what i am doing wrong? new roman shield decal artwork adding to game?

Okay I wanted to make a test mod as I have now finished all the shield decal artwork so here is everything I have done. I have made the shield decals and they are exactly the same size as the current decals in the game 22kb in size and saved them as .dds files and they are BC1/DXT1 and mipmaps. In Packfilemanager I have made a new Mod and added from pack models_rome2.PACK so I have the variantmeshes/_variantmodels/man/patterns/roman drop down selection so my shield decals are placed in the right locations. now with this drop down I have selected the roman tab and have added my files but my files only go under the variantmeshes tab and not under the roman tab with the rest of the texture arrays and decal diffuses am I doing anything wrong with this part? I also have made normal_maps for each shield decal I have made. also where are the normals for the already ingame shield decals? I cant find them in the models packs for the romans but the variantmeshdefinition for shields for the romans reference them :S okay I am trying to add the new shield decals to the roman hastati, I haven't changed the roman_hastati_variantmeshdefinition file as I want to keep them as they are, I have however changed the variantmeshdefinition file of the shield the hastati uses to use my new artwork rather than the blank decal they currently have. all of this is saved and made into a .PACK file and I pasted it into the Rome 2 data folder and have it selected in the mod manager and it doesn't work :S little confused now, if anyone can help on how to get the artwork into the correct drop down that may help the issue or am I missing something blatantly obvious that is going to make me feel a little embarrassed with myself cheers in advance guys

The First post You have to add the other files so that it matches the path so it would be (/_variantmodels/man/patterns/roman these files you have to add by making them in the file you have everything saved) the decals in game don't have normal, your as well do not need any normals. As for the second post, No it doesn't matter, you only put you artwork in the Pack mod file.
