Deleting viruses and annoying programs.

Some stupid virus program installed itself on my computer somehow, and it keeps making popups that my computer is infested and linking to some anti-virus site, and throwing up popups for dating services and porn and stuff. Mcafee couldn't find it as a virus, adaware didn't get rid of it, and when I try to delete the file myself it tells me the program is in use so I can't delete it, but when I close it in task manager it just turns back on right away. I couldn't find it in the registry either(why can't they ****ing list themselves by the program name and not random **** that makes you think it's viruses?!

i think its time for you to change your antivirus program...
and you might try sum online scan other then mcafee's to get rid of problems?

Mcafee's done fine for me, it's just this one stupid program.

i think i know which program you mean Ulyaoth, i never managed to kill it on my old comp, i just managed to kill most of it so all that was left was this stupid pop-up message it had.

that's real great. I only set this hard drive up back in June, I don't want to have to reformat, but I'm not dealing with annoying popups all the time. There's no way to get rid of it?

You press ctrl-alt-del, you go to processes, you hopefully trace the program running by its name.
You choose and press end process...it stops (hopefully) then you dwnld nod32 ativirus program and it reliefs you.

Same thing happened to me. It was called Windows Anti-Virus and never stopped popping up. It eventually was installed by my father accidentally and made me have to wipe everything clean. :'(

Um, wow, I just fixed it by doing a simple system restore. The files are gone from my computer, popups finally stopped, everything gone. Wow, I'm just doing some more scans just to make sure, but it's looking good. And the program was going to some virusbuster and other sites, I'm sure they're no good.
