I hope this takes off as an official mapping thread once some extra resources are released by CA so that we can mod the map like in Shogun II. I expect sometime they will be released... they just need to release their DLCs first.

Anyway, I had some ideas on future campaign maps.

The biggest thing I hate about the campaigns are that minor factions or even majors expand so fast. The Averni typically always expand into spain after taking most of Gaul. The Suebi always race down into Italy after taking Germany, etc.

I would prefer factions that are slower at expanding or factions that once they reach a certain size implode from rebellions. Remember in Empire how a rebellion starts and its one or two armies? Those were cool.

So my idea was to mod the campaign map and literally add a hundred (at least) new settlements. However, most would be tiny villages. They might be one faction villages or part of another faction. But the village would be very minor and couldnt build too much. Hopefully, that would prevent it from expanding. If another faction conquers it I am hoping the village wont be too productive that it provides a boost to the other faction.

I would also like to mod the village growth by introducing a new building that takes around 10-20 turns to research. It would develop the village from a village to a thriving town which then branches into the main branch of upgrades already present.
