Unspecified error CTD

I have played lots of SS in the past but decided to try a new Late era campaign as the Teutonic Order. Game loads up fine, I select the faction and click start, and the sword loads up but then a ping and the error message saying "Medieval 2 has encountered an unspecified error and will now exit" appears. Running Steam, never had this issue before with the mod. Win 7.

seems like a bad install, probably because of win7' UAC

I have spent a good amount of time looking, It only happens when I try an early or Late campaign, if I try the Middle early era campaign with full recruitment It seems to work fine. Sorry should have mentioned this in Op but it slipped my mind.

? that doesnt sound like something from SS6.4 unless is from some submod...or did you mean medium difficulty?

Which version of the mod you have?
which submods?
etc

No submods I am aware of unless during one apparently forgettable night I downloaded one, it calls itself the HURB Early era campaign. I have SS6.4 I believe I will just do a clean install with SS after I finish my current campaign. Sorry for the bother and lack of giving info. The help is still much appreciated.
