Default Some little questions of RS2.6

I just recently migrated from old 2.4 to 2.6. Here are some little issues I observed:
    1. My selections of special bloom effect, high res unit model and post-marian roman units options are not getting saved. Whenever I restart my launcher, all these options are deselected. I tried to save it by clicking the save button at right bottom corner, but it didn't work.
    2. When I start the game, the usual big "roma surrectum II" flash screen is now replaced by black screen with 2 lines of green words at top left hand corner. The game is still running in the background though. But it scared the hell out of me cuz I thought it was crashing. Is this normal?
    3. Is there any guide on how to set up bloom effect and user preferences?

The black screem using bloom is normal....unfortunately, I do not know how to advise you as to how to get beyond it. There is a simple key combination, but I don't remember what it is. I've never used it, BTW.

This is an installation issue, most probably caused by a change of the Desk-top icon.

Check the properties of the icon on the desktop - and the 'Start in' selection. It should read 'C\...........\Launcher' and not, I suspect, 'C\.........\UI\Wonders'.

Yep, problem solved. But how did the desktop icon change? I never touched its properties.

I honestly don't know; but had this problem with just a couple of my several installations during testing. So I know how to solve it now, but only assumed that it was me changing the icon that could have caused it.

Does that mean my other parts of 2.6 installation have also messed up? Gosh, I don't want to go back to reinstall everything.

You can wait till the bloom initializes, then alt-tab out of the black screen and back to the game.

If you go to the enbseries homepage, there is a reference for the parameters in enbseries.ini. I have mine looking very nice, but even at minimum quality it still costs me too many fps.

I accidentally clicked on "restore default settings" under preferences. Any way to get my values back? I preferred the settings that I got from fresh installation.

No. Whatever you did to the icon should have no effect on your install. In the properties, it should say this:

    "D:\RS2.6_Test\launcher\Roma Surrectum II.exe"

Or something like that. It's quite simple. But of course, if your install was screwed up, then the icon could have problems as well.
A quick way to test your install....

In the RS2 main directory (where the RomeTW.exe is) there are three batch files named 'RS2_Alex.bat, RS2_BI.bat, and RS2_RTW.bat' respectively. Any time you have issues with the Launcher, you can use one of these to test your install. They allow you to choose any campaign....just select a number\letter, and hit enter.

I see. so far my game runs fine. Btw, any tips or guide on the preferences? There are a lot of options in there and some of them don't make immediate sense to me. Like I have 1680x1050 monitor, there are 3 places to put in solution settings. battle map, TGA and etc.

Just put your resolution in all tabs for Campaign and Battle.
TGA has to do with screen capture. Its useless.
