Default A guide to the preference.cfg file in the Demo

This file can be found in the

    Sega/Medieval2: Total War Demo / - folder.

You can open it with the Notepad by , right clicking on this file and on the drop down menu, select "open with" and from there select "notepad" to edit this file.

I'm gonna post what I know about the options.

Some places, it's either "true" or "false" or "1" (for true) and "2" (for false) and sometimes there is a numeric value for valid options.

Mind you, many of these can be changed within the game options screen with some special ones can be only turned on/off here (example= banners or the green circles on unit selection )

(not in the demo) - means, they do not have any known effect on the demo.
(should be set within the game options menu instead) - means, they are visible within the game options menu, and see explanation for it. I would recommend to set those options within the game instead, although if you got problems, you could try overriding them in this text.

HOT - is what you guys mostly looking for..
