    Default No Dismounted King's Men

So I'm playing a campaign as england, the year is 1370, I have access to King's Men, and own a number of fortresses. From everything I can tell, I should have access to dismounted King's Men, but they are not available for recruitment anywhere.

    Is this explainable?

You seem to have real recruitment turned on until the half plate event happens you wont be able to recruit any dismounted kings men http://www.stainless-steel-mod.com/England/England.html , what is weird though is that the half plate event is supposed to happen around 1310 - 1330 and seeing as your in the year 1370 it should have happened ages ago. I could understand if they weren't available in regions outside England but if you cant recruit them in your home regions I don't have a clue whats gone wrong. Do you remember getting the half plate event, perhaps something has happened to that?

That's what I was thinking might have happened, but I have access to mounted King's Men, which also require the half-plate event. And I am still occupying my home region, so it shouldn't be a region problem.

i think remembering that dismounted versions of "knights" units always come available much later, probably with the next armour event or something like that.

Hmm thats odd try starting a new game in the late period with Real Recruitment turned off and see if they are available in a fortress, or see if waiting another few turns helps. Sorry I cant be more helpful

yep i just checked the EDB, dismounted kings men are available after full plate for fortresses and partial plate for citadels

Full Plate event is around year 1380-1400 so you either wait for that or try to upgrade one of your fortresses to citadel.

www.stainless-steel-mod.com was Last updated: 2013, April 2, SS6.4 is from 2011 but AFAIK that site lists units for RR/RC submod which last version was for SS6.3 i think, no RR/RC has been released for 6.4

ahh, well that explains it. Thanks Melooo. Should just be a little longer then, and billmen + yeoman archers have done the job just fine so far.
