    Default Missile Infantry doesn't like Officers

    This is a duplicate thread from the text editing forum, but due to it's nature I'll post it here as well.

    Thought I share my recent findings. We had a problem in RotK with our missile infantry body guard units - when they entered melee the game would crash.

    Suspicions about faulty models and animations were laid to rest quickly by using a vanilla model instead of the custom one.

    After painstakingly replacing each line in the EDU entry and testing it eventually boiled down to the officer entry. And no, it was not a different model - it was the exact same entry used for the soldier entry. You can test this very easily by adding a 'officer' line below the 'soldier' line with the same model in any of your missile infantry entries.

    I tested it by doing a Alt+right click attack with the unit.

    Archers seem to think that officers suck

    Latest news: it's because archers don't have a missile melee animation. Other infantry will work as officers. It's the same for missile cavalry.
