Are you sure? If I use the old Col_mod you sent me, I have amazingly better rosters, all the pictures and descriptions are more complete and correct, i don't see nearly as much vanilla officers, if any, and line infantry is fixed.

Col_mod was pre the virus attack on my computer which forced me to reinstall Windows since when I had to use a backup.

I will be updating new.pack at some stage. Col_mod had stability issues.

Right, so what do you think is responsible for this change?

I can provide you with more reference screenshots for before and after if you wish.

YSD this thread is for "bugs". What you are referring to is not a bug and will be addressed when I have time. Feel free to discuss it on a different thread.

Some Spanish units cause battles to crash. I don't know about other factions.

    Thanks.

I have uncovered what might be the problem i.e. missing model and will upload a solution.

I downloaded the new startpos. and although there is no bugs Per Se the script has remained unchanged, it seems that the IA goes into a sort of "hibernation mode" i.e. doesn't repair damaged buildings recruit or defend itself properly.......the list goes on and on. I played as several factions up to about turn 30-35.

The French unite "estrangers" caused me a CTD both in the campaign mode and multi-player. To confirm this I changed the unit model to French Musketeers and the problem was resolved.

Make sure you are not running other mods alongside this one as is can cause conflicts and CTDs.

Have the same situation. I haven't any other mods. Just Colonization 1600. Generals, spies, gentlemens and bishops has age on "-" like -45 for example. After 4-5 turns averyone dies and computer do nothing. Also all units with pikes upkeep cost is to high like 1000 - 1200 per turn.

That isn't a bug though. The more I change in a startpos the greater the risks to stability so I am being gradual with startpos changes. The upkeep issue will be adjusted in the next mod as it isn't startpos related. The armoured units have high upkeep - that historically is one reason armour went into decline as ever larger armies were needed.

By changing the starting year to 1600 without changing the birth years of agents, those agents ages automatically become negative numbers. I was careful to ensure this wasn't the case for important faction leaders. I will have a go at doing the same for agents but remember there are lots of them. And you can always create new generals that have normal ages.

When you say "I have the same situation", are you talking about the regiment etrangere crash Froman has?

I think we discussed this issue before and it was resolved in the last update I think. I think it was caused by a missing model for regiments entrangers which is supposed to dirct to the Landknecht model. It's possible this wasn't fixed in the last update but if so it certainly will be in the next release. Make sure you have the most recent release which was uploaded on May 22nd.

There was a line infantry crash due to a missing model but that WAS fixed in the last release.

If you have the latest version and are still experiencing the problem, then until the next release I recommend simly auto-resolving battles involving the regiments etrangeres (that orange unit icon) until the next release.
