war against Sauron

Hello to everyone...i play the high elves campaingn for 192 turns...Sauron has found the one ring and of course reborn....i have taken most of Mordr's castles such as Black Gate and Dol Guldur...thanks to stupid Silvan Elves my relations with Rohan is poor...Rhun Isengard and Orcs of the Misty Mountains are destroyed...Arnor is back....tell me your opionions how to destroy Sauron...thank you for your time!!

You should be in a dominant position at this point to end the game.

Sauron himself will probably cost you 6-8 infantry units if you fight him man to man, plus whatever army he has at his back (unless you catch him in a siege and starve him). Use armor piercing units such as Lindon Longspears or Beorning Mercenaries. Alternately, a good ballista shot will do the trick. He is just a unit in the game, high stats but no otherwise godly powers.

as most of the evil factions are destroyed and most of mordor conquered, you must be the military overlord in middle-earth, so:
arnor and the dwarves must be busy fighting orcs of gundabad, and gondor fighting harad, so dont worry about the other evil factions despite mordor

just take a fullstack and march to sauron, he's just an aordinary unit with superior stats--but: if you use superior archer fire, his defence skill will be ignored, then continue with armor piercing units like lindon spears and last, give him a nice cavalry attack from the back! thats how i did it, stats: sauron dead, 196 lost

ouh, and dont worry about his army, mordor hasn't nearly equal units to your noldor elves

the situation is exactly as you write....but i recently open war with Gundabad and i try to fix my relations with Rohan (giving the gifts etc...) i gather all my forces to the Black gate but i am afraid to attack because my soldiers are not full if you understand( e.g: 90 from 121)....so it is risky!!!!

xaxaxaxaxa you think its easy? sauron and four captains are full with soldiers.......i havent support.....silvan elves and rohan fight each other arnor and dwarves after the destruction of Gundabad sitting in their kingdoms....Gondor fight Harad.....only Dale........

Well yea i think it should be easy. You have the best soldiers, best archers... So make some 2-3 stacks and you should delete twice more soldiers then you have. Siege cities, wait for enemy to attack you, shower them with archers, make catapults for trolls and saurons etc...

i have done everything you said....but when i have two captains side by side it sais that the one i dont control cant fight by night.........what can i do after that??? my captain has 2000 soldiers sauron has 3500 and his help has 4000......

well I think for elves is to be in defensive position (enemy attacks you), so you should position your armies where you want to fight, most likely you want to siege castle and wait till they sally out. Bring your reinforcments too and try to not to fight in the night if your captains cant.

Lure him out, make sure to split up his forces and then take them one by one.
Don't use the night fighter ability if you other general cannot use it.

thanks for your advices my friends but in Mordor i think always is a fight by night right??

Mordor is dark terrain which may appear similar to night, however a true night fight is something very specific. A night fight must be selected by the attacker, who has a general with the Night Fighter trait. In a night fight, the defender will not get reinforcements from nearby armies unless the reinforcements have a general with the 'Night Fighter' trait. So if you see several armies of Mordor reinforcing each other, you can fight one army per battle if you use a night attack. There may be other penalties to certain types of units in the darkness as well, such as archers.

2 fullstacks should be sufficient to fight sauron's hordes; just fill them with noldor units only (the golden armor guys), somewhat like this:
1 general,
6 Noldor Archers,
4 noldor Swordsmen
4 Noldor Spearmen
4 Noldor Cavalry and maybe one catapult, that must be enough.

Use generals with "night fighter" traits, if you do not have some present, its not that bad, but try to defeat the enemies' armies one-by-one.
do not despair if they attack you 2:1, mordor has crappy units (one charge of your cav can send the raisers running for the hills )

and don't worry about rohan, etc. if you're the leading military one, no one will dare to attack you!

hello my friends!!! sauron began a siege in mh Black Gate...i have destroy the 38% of his troops with archers but he doesnt make any move to break my gates...what should i do?? open the gates and face him or wait till the rams break them?
