Default For the crazy man Selea

I take back anything I previously said about Rome being to easy. I had the most fun, heartbreaking, and challenging campaign in my TW experience. I played as Roma on L/L and thought I was the , but soon found out I had over expanded. Carthage and the barbarians (the one I thought I had beat) joined forces and simply kicked my ass!!!! lol I have never lost a campaign with Rome, but I had to call it quits. I had no money and 6 full stacks knocking on my door---it was great. Please, except for slight tweeks, do not change anything. You and the team are masters and I can't wait to start a new campaign.

    Thanks!

Well, I'm also gonna try my next campaign on L/L but it feels it's not that hard to play on VH/VH, but before say it's true I have to finish current campaign and only then have last word on VH difficulty of this version of a mod. I played some battles on L and they much harder than VH.

Dude, I quess we not gonna see any videos from your last campaign, ha? )

Man I wish I had the energy to make Let's Play videos like you do, yours were pretty fun to watch and also my first exposure to DeI which resulted in me picking it up. My Legendary campaign as Rome has been pretty entertaining as far as 'main faction' experiences go with the Total War series. Just gotta milk every ounce of potential out of your pila and Rome should feel reasonably on par with other armies on Legendary.

Were you at war with Carthage very early? Just curious because in my game I managed to capture all of Cisalpine Italy before shifting sights to Illyria as I was able to prevent sustained hostilities with Carthage and eventually even allied with them against my former Sicilian bench-warmer Syracuse. Now at around 100 turns into the game, and pretty much since turn 80 or so, I can pretty adequately cover my ass while scraping ever increasing gains in Illyria, Greece, and Macedon.

Try a reboot of Rome on Legendary and see if you can find more success, Rome on Legendary feels a lot more rewarding because your tactics make your legionnaries succeed rather than the other way around.

Well, I went to war with two barbaric northern tribes and lost one battle only cause my men were so depleted from two previous one....then here comes Carthage. They have fully balanced armies(better recruitment mod--a must) and huge fleets. 4 full stacks and they did not mess around---it was great.

Yeah Legendary makes each faction pound for pound more to deal with. Too many consecutive bites or unplanned moves and you end up on the back foot really quickly. Lost Genua to Massilia from this because I decided to move my army into Massilia to engage their army on the border to eliminate it so that when their troop-transport fleet arrived at Genua it would have no land army to accompany it. When my army went back to Genua I didn't have enough movement to get inside the city, but was well within reinforcement range (only like 2 army-widths away). Never would I have imagined that the Massilian General aboard the troop transports not far off Genua in the Tyrrhenian Sea was a Night Fighter... RIP Genua Garrison, Rorarii and Mobs don't hold up to Hoplites and Epibatoi, much less so with the "Unprepared for Night Battle" morale penalty.

I am waiting for your new Let's Play

Have you decided which faction to play with? I would choose a greek one (so when 0.85 comes you will even have Macedon revamped + the new shields to look at).
