I want to watch tv on my monitor
So I do not have a tv anymore, and was wondering what is the best option for me. I've heard that I could go with either a card or box to watch tv on my monitor. I know nothing about this technology, and its capabilities. I have diiectv and have no idea how it will work and even if that is a problem at all(probably and hopefully not).
I most definately appreciate any feedback, because I am a dufus when it comes to this stuff. Much thanks in advance!

Re: I want to watch tv on my monitor
I am doing this in my dorm room currently with a tv tuner.
here is an example: LINK
mine is something similar and this concept works well. I save space in my room by having no extra tv. Plus I get to use my isck 21 inch HD monitor!

With a t.v. and a satelitte box you always have two remotes. One that comes with the tv and the other that comes with the box. The deal is the same here. You would turn on the tv tuner with its remote and adjust volume but you would use the satelitte remote to pick your channel. Same deal as with most sateillte setups.
