Good thing? Bad thing? Discuss. I found this most recent development interesting in light of allegations earlier in the year from former members of the intel community that this had been the endgame of Snowden's treason all along.

As Roma Victrix stated, this has been a long term move that was going to happen with or without Obama in office.

I predict then delays in service, server crashes, Cameron trying to stick his face on the end of every hyperlink and France trying to make all urls adhere to the rightful lingua franca...

But seriously i'm not sure how much of an impact this is going to have, though i did get concerned when they said that the running of the US's remaining responsibilities will go to global stock-holding companies... Theirs only one thing worse than governmental control, and that's big business.

It has less to do with the Snowden revelations and more about a key contract not being renewed, along with a decade-old push in this direction to begin with.

Looks like a lot if and wiggle room as well for the US government if it gets a definite push back against or not the results it likes it is under no pressure to go forward, but it gets the benefit of placating those pushing for change and no special US control.
