    Default Garrison Modding

I'm playing around with garrison modding right now and it's starting to frustrate me. I've looked everywhere and read the forums, but I'm not coming up with an answer. Maybe I'm just an idiot and doing it wrong, so someone please correct me if I am.

I want to know, is it possible right now with the mod tools out there to make garrisons unique to factions or military groups right now? I've tried using the armed citizenry and groups tables, but they aren't restricting things the way I want. Am I doing something wrong, or am I trying to grab the moon here?

I've experienced the same stuff, I wanted to remove the garrison ashigaru from Ikko faction, making that unit having the buddhist religion recquierement and removing the entries in military group tables...the units become invisible from the castle infos, but always spawn when the castle is besieged.

Perhaps to tie the unit to a specific(religion) building would work?

I have added Aizu's Joushitai to the game and made them an Aizu-specific garrison unit via unit_to_exclusive_faction_permissions. However, the game doesn't recognize it and now everyone has Joushitai garrisons.
You could either add a new regional building to the game via startpos editing. Alternatively, it might be worth a try to add a new region resource.

You have to do it with faction specific permissions i haven't messed with the PFM in a while now but at one point i had added faction specific katana ashigaru to each clan and they were included in the garison. I dont rememeber exactly what all i had to do but it involves making several custom units and editing the permissions table correclty

Both me and Weierstrass have tried this approach, but it doesn't work. Maybe region resources will do the trick.
