Default Any way to save my save?

I get an unspecified error when I try to load my most recent save. Starting new game works fine, also loading an earlier save works fine. I set myself to run as administrator and also added disable_file_cache = true to the cfg file, still can't load it.

If it helps, the game stays open as a window, but with nothing in it.

Testing on my own, it seems like it happens because I kill my faction heir while his daughter exists as an agent princess. Maybe because dead faction heirs don't retain their status like dead rulers do it hangs up wondering why the princess exists? If I let him become emperor before killing him would that prevent the crash? Is this making sense to anyone?

Nobody has any ing ideas? Not even "yeah, corrupted saves can't be fixed"?

I know why it's broken, is there nothing I can do to unbreak that save? Luckily my other save is the turn right before I glitched it anyway, BUT when I advance from there a general who came of age with good stats comes of age with useless stats, forcing me to keep reloading and changing things trying to shuffle the seeds.

Yeah, corrupted saves can't be fixed.

Any way to prevent future saves from being corrupted the same way, besides the obvious but very specific don't kill off faction heirs while their daughters exist on the map as agents? Guess I just need to shuffle the seed around until my good general comes out good again.
