hi,
I'm starting a Baktrian campaign.
I'm curious about suggestions for early and late game Baktrian army lineups.
thanks for your suggestions.

Hm, it's rather hard to talk about an ideal mix. It depends greatly on who you're fighting and also on your fighting style which depends on what factions you've been playing so far. The good news is that Baktria has one of the most varied rosters in the game so you can take practically any path. You can assemble a purely hellenistic army or include more Iranian, Scythian or even Indian troops.
Best advice I can give you: experiment in the frame of common sense (as in don't charge your cavalry head on into a phalanx). The more infantry you use, the less micro-management will be necessary but you will suffer higher casualties. Use units where they are strongest: use sword or axe bearing units for assaulting walls, spearmen for holding the main line, keep your skirmishers away from melee, your cavalry away from infantry unless on your own terms. Don't rely on horse archers when assaulting cities, don't use light infantry against horse archers.
My Baktrian game usually slows down so I'm not really the one to talk about details. Perhaps someone with more experience will add more.

Don't use elephants unless you're confident you can afford them.
