I am currently 100 turns into a Roma campaign and I too resolved not to recruit any slinger or bow units. It has been a very fun campaign playing like this. It adds an urgency to the attack, especially if the enemy is fielding Baleric slingers.

I would like to share with you the experience I have had with this mod, I will post screnshots later. I started as Rome, bear in mind this is my first time playing this game and mod, but had played Medieval before. Firstly I bought peace with Epieros, then conquered the province north of Roma, Genua, etc. Carthagine then attacled me, I conquered Sicily and that is where the fight is going on right now, every turn there is owner exchanges of settlements in Sicily. I am at 60ish turn.
Being new at this game and mod, I did not know to take care of politics and that is where the problems started, because when I was in control of Sicily, a civil war broke out, 1 or 2 of my full stack army declared war against me, but I managed to take care of it. Could somebody point me to somewhere where I can get help about politics?

Thanks, but now that you mentioned the sunset - I looked at the background and you can see the alps! They're mostly from my raids to Raetia and southern Gaul I think. The Romans hit the imperial reforms so I'm "encouraging" 'em to raise new legions
