Default Console commands say character not found

I capitalized the family member name, have them selected, but it always says character not found. What am I doing wrong? Add gold and toggle fow worked fine.

Names are a complete around and it will some time to get used to things, first, you need to put the name in quotes, for 3 or more named persons, combinations of Underscores (_) and no spaces or sometimes spaces are used, ie "Donnchad mac_Chada" or "Donnchad macChada".

But you need the correct name, many peoples' names aren't as displayed, you'll need to go to the family tree to see what the real name, ie, Donnchad The Saint is still Donchad mac_Chada, etc.

Search around for some more explanations but thats the gist of it.

Ok, none of the sites mentioned anything about quotes. Managed to throw my heir presumptive at a stack of Mongols, and rush his daughter to Innsbruck to marry my new heir's son. Thanks for the help.

Guys you can click on the character and type in the command line "this" after the command instead of the character name, getting the character name right can be tricky as the displayed name isnt necesarrily the intern ID for it.

    for example: give_ancillary this

    That also helps.
